PHOTOGRAPHY

Welcome to the blog, where I share tips, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and beautiful stories from working with families to create lasting heirlooms.

Meet Amy & Wil

Amy and Wil are one of the sweetest couples I’ve had the joy of photographing, and they’re eagerly awaiting the arrival of their little one this May! For their maternity session they chose Fort Scott, KS. They wanted a location that felt meaningful and timeless, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect day.

A Timeless Setting at Fort Scott National Historic Site

Collage of maternity images: A couple on a white porch balcony, looking at each other with the husband holding the rail and the wife gently cradling her baby bump. The second image features the wife standing alone, softly looking into the camera with both hands holding her belly wearing a emerald green dress in a peaceful, timeless moment.

Amy and Wil wanted a setting that felt traditional and clean, something that reflected their love for all things timeless. The white porches and historic homes offered just that, giving us a peaceful backdrop filled with soft light and beautiful architecture.

Capturing Love, Laughter, and Anticipation

As we wandered the sidewalks connecting the historic buildings, I watched Amy and Wil naturally fall into step with one another. Amy’s face lit up every time she looked at Wil, and he had a quiet way of keeping her laughing throughout the session.

Collage of two maternity images: First image is a close-up of a husband and wife’s hands gently holding the wife’s baby bump. The second image shows them in the same pose, but slightly pulled back to reveal their full bodies and half of their smiling faces, capturing a warm, intimate moment.

These are the moments I love most as a motherhood and maternity photographer in Kansas. Real smiles, warm connection, and the kind of love that shows up easily on camera.

Waiting with Love and Grace

Amy and Wil have decided to wait to find out the baby’s gender, which adds such a sweet layer of anticipation. When I asked if they had names picked out, they smiled and nodded, they already have one for each. They’re both beautiful and classic, but not overdone names that feel perfectly suited to this little one and their family.

A Fort Scott Maternity Session to Remember

This Fort Scott maternity session felt peaceful and full of purpose, like a quiet pause before life beautifully changes. It was an honor to document this season for Amy and Wil, two people stepping into parenthood with so much love already in their hearts.

Collage of two maternity images: First image shows a wife in an emerald green dress turned to the side, looking over her shoulder while gently holding the bottom of her baby bump. Second image is a black-and-white shot of the husband and wife together, with the wife holding her baby bump and her arm looped into the husband’s. The husband leans in to kiss her on the cheek, creating an intimate, loving moment.

Their baby is already deeply cherished, and I can’t wait to see them embrace the joy and beauty of this next chapter.

Looking Forward to Meeting Their Little One

I’m so grateful to have been a part of Amy and Wil’s journey into parenthood. Their love for each other and the baby is truly inspiring! I can’t wait to meet their little one and see how they each step into their roles! Stay tuned for the next chapter of their story, it’s going to be one filled with even more joy, laughter, and love! (And keep an eye out for their newborn session blog post, which I’ll be linking here once their baby arrives!)
