Clyde is just three months old. He had recently learned how to hold up his head, and from the moment he did, his wide-eyed curiosity and playful energy shone through. Every little movement seemed full of wonder, ready to explore the world around him! This milestone session at Gunn Park in Fort Scott, Kansas was all about growth, family, and capturing those baby milestones.
We started on a soft checkered quilt made by Clyde’s great-grandmother. He loved tummy time and explored the world around him with such joy. While he investigated his surroundings, I captured little new details, like a newly formed cowlick and the determination he showed as he practiced rolling over.
Capturing these small moments is one of my favorite parts of baby milestone photography. They truly tell a story of growth and discovery.

Next, we moved the quilt closer to the water, and flipped the quilt, revealing an array of denim squares. We placed Clyde into a Snap-On picnic basket and grabbed his little fishing pole. Dad pretended to cast the fishing pole near a group of ducks, but the weighted fish had other plans. It flew off and scattered the ducks, and we couldn’t stop laughing at the unexpected chaos.

If you have been following along Baby Clyde’s Story, you know that his fishing pole is more than a toy – it’s a growth marker. We used it during his newborn photography session, and it will continue to mark milestones as he grows. It’s these little details that make each baby milestone session so special.
Clyde wore his denim overalls on the quilt, and the mix of blue tones was stunning. He gazed up at the sky, and held onto his tiny pair of pliers – a nod to this family tradition, since the men never go anywhere without them. These details tell a bigger story about this family and the love they share. That’s exactly what I aim to capture in every family photography session.

We finished with simple, heartfelt images of Clyde with his parents – a timeless family portrait they can frame on their walls. The gentle sunlight and soft breeze made the moment feel natural and full of love. They laughed together, and every little gesture felt so meaningful. These sessions aren’t just about capturing the baby. They’re about the family, the connections, and the little everyday moments that often go unnoticed. These fleeting, tender moments are what turn photographs into memories you’ll treasure for years to come.

Watching Clyde explore and taste everything reminded me just how quickly these early months pass. Sessions like this are about more than photos. They are meant to preserve the fleeting moments that tell a family’s story.
If you’d like to capture milestones like Clyde’s, I’d love to help you create timeless baby milestone photography and family portraits that you’ll treasure forever.
